LBOC members were challenged by long time member Dean Upshaw aka “Man about Town” and retired architect, to wear red noses to a meeting for a photoshoot for Red Nose Day. The photo was shown on the NBC Red Nose Day Special. In addition to our noses we were entertained and informed by Indian Motorcycle of Lafayette who brought the new “Slingshot” for members to experience. RED NOSE DAY <<info

LBOC members helped children from the Lafayette Boys and Girls club with race day preparations on their cars. Gary Buttry organized the effort and helped with race day on June 20, 2015. Racers are required to tear down and re-assemble the race cars, where the LBOC’s help was needed most. More information on the Soap Box Derby program can be found here. <click. Come join us at 7:30 a.m. (meeting starts at 8 a.m.) on Wednesdays at the Downtowner (Market Square Shopping Center, 2200 Elmwood Ave D15, Lafayette, IN 47904) for some fellowship, information, and fun. Meetings vary from community organizers, sometimes requesting funding, to youngsters trying out their public speaking skills for the annual Oratorical Competition. During the month of July, LBOC members lead by Gary Buttry and Joe Kepner, assembled a new Ga-Ga Pit for the Lafayette Boys and Girls Club Beck Lane location. VonTobles contributed with a discount on lumber. Many ask what is a Ga-Ga pit? Here is your answer, and it’s enjoyed by children around the world.
