Red Nose Day Fun Times

LBOC members were challenged by long time member Dean Upshaw aka “Man about Town” and retired architect, to wear red noses to a meeting for a photoshoot for Red Nose Day.  The photo was shown on the NBC Red Nose Day Special.  In addition to our noses we were entertained and informed by Indian Motorcycle of Lafayette who brought the new “Slingshot” for members to experience. Fat Tuesday, Feb 9, 2016 at the Outpost

The legendary LBOC Fat Tuesday Party isn’t far away. Make plans to attend this evening of  fun, great food, libations and fellowship.

Here is a video of past President, Rich Ritter ’90, ’12, bringing the band in, at the start of 2015 LBOC Fat Tuesday Party.  Plans are underway for the 2016 party to be better than the last.  Stay tuned for more information.

Helping hand to young racers.

LBOC members helped children from the Lafayette Boys and Girls club with race day preparations on their cars.  Gary Buttry organized the effort and helped with race day on June 20, 2015.  Racers are required to tear down and re-assemble the race cars, where the LBOC’s help was needed most.  More information on the Soap Box Derby program can be found here. <click.  Ellie Butz, Pete Branson, Frank Donaldson, and Larry Loft were part of various pit and build crews. More information on our local Boys and Girls club can be found here. <click

Lafayette Boys and Girls Club, Ga-Ga Pit Construction

During the month of July, LBOC members lead by Gary Buttry and Joe Kepner, assembled a new Ga-Ga Pit for the Lafayette Boys and Girls Club Beck Lane location.  VonTobles contributed with a discount on lumber. Many ask what is a Ga-Ga pit?  Here is your answer, and it’s enjoyed by children around the world. Link for more information on the Boys and Girls Club.  Pete Branson, David Norman, Steve Bruhn, Larry Loft, and Vince Walter contributed sweat equity for our youth.
